Goodbye Lilly
Yesterday we took our cat Lillith to the vet for the final time. She'd been having some health issues that were not curable, and we didn't want to see her suffer. Fortunately the problems came on quickly so she didn't have to bare them for long, but it didn't give us much time to say good bye.

I got Lilly 12 years ago for my birthday. She lived with me in three different apartments, and our house. She lived along side twelve different roommates or neighbors of mine, and saw me go to eleven different jobs. She was there when I started dating Carrie, there when I married her, and there to see Alex be born, crawl, walk and run.

She was a constant in our lives that we'd come to depend on and she has left a hole in our home life greater than I expected. It was great to have her by my side for all those years and I'll miss her dearly.

Lilly, I hope you're napping in the sun light next to a huge bowl of chicken and tuna.

:(

Vacation, Games, Alex
I've got several things to mention. Carrie and her friend Jackie went away last weekend to visit the Wisconsin Dells. They enjoyed some good food , and a lot of time in the water . Carrie actually has a tan, and it looks good on her.

In her absense Alex and I got to spend two whole days together partying. It was great. We played with firetrucks, went to the park, and ate corn dogs two nights in a row. It wasn't the healthiest weekend of his life, but when the cat is away...

I've been playing some incredible games lately. Recently I had the peasure of completing Call of Juarez and Trine . Both were a ton of fun. I'm now playing The Witcher , and so far it's really enjoyable. I also heard that it's really long, so I guess it'll be a while before I get to try out the recently announced 1.02 patch for Mass Effect which is supposed to fix all of the issues I has with the game. I'll be installing the add-on pack and playing that again before venturing into the sequel.

Next week we're all going on vacation to Fence Lake in Minocqua. It'll be Carrie, Alex, and myself along with my Mother, father and sister for an entire week. We're hoping Alex doesn't mind the ~5 hour drive, the new bed, and completely new environment, but I imagine we'll do ok. I'm really looking forward to it.

Weekend update
Carrie and I had a pretty nice weekend. We got to eat some Boston Market Friday night thanks to a coupon. Alex almost ate more than Carrie. That kid loves good wholesome American food (covered in gravy or cheese).

Saturday my parent's offered to take Alex overnight. Carrie had a lot of work to get done, so she stayed home, but I took Alex down to see Grandma and Grandpa. My sister was in town so we did some eating, some drinking, and some shopping. It was a great time. Then I went home and Carrie and I did dinner and movie.

Sunday was the first day I've had in months where we didn't have something going on. I took advantage of this by doing almost nothing the entire day. I managed to do some laundry and some dishes, but mostly I did nothing for hours. It was everything I'd hoped it could be.

MillerCoors Tests a Draft-Beer Box for the Fridge
MillerCoors LLC has begun testing the sale of $20 draft-beer systems for consumers to drink at home, part of a string of new products and package innovation from beer giants grappling for market share in a crowded, slow-growing industry.

MillerCoors, the second-largest U.S. brewer by revenue, has begun testing the 1.5-gallon "Home Draft" for its biggest brands -- Miller Lite and Coors Light -- in about a half-dozen cities, including Dallas, Phoenix and San Diego. The boxed product, which is designed to fit into refrigerators for drinkers to consume periodically, rather than for one-time party use, comes amid packaging overhauls by the U.S. units of Heineken NV and Anheuser-Busch InBev NV.
