Experts say the precipitous drop-off in spam comes from Internet providers unplugging McColo Corp., a hosting provider in Northern California that was the home base for machines responsible for coordinating the sending of roughly 75 percent of all spam each day.
(Note: A link to the full story on McColo's demise is available here .)

( 3.1 / 27 )There are a ton of new pictures up in Alex's photo gallery. The second page contains them all. New entries in the Six Month gallery, and brand new 7 and 8 month galleries to boot!
Click here to enjoy them all!
My birthday party was a lot of fun, by the way. Thanks a bunch to the hosts, and to all that came. Tim, I stole some of your Dr. Peppers. Sorry about that.
And also, in case you live in a cave , Obama won the election. Awesome!

( 2.9 / 30 )I have been extremely busy with my new job and have been neglecting the blog. Sorry about that. There have actually been some pretty big events. Alex is not standig up every chance he gets. Every thing that is knee-high has been child proofed. It's amazing how instantly a baby goes from sitting to being able to stand up. The change was as sure as if some one had flicked a switch and given him the ability. It's neat.
New pictures of Alex will be posted soon. You'll get to see him standing up as well as witness his pumpkin halloween outfit. It's a real treat. Maybe you'll also get to see his two brand new top front teeth. I hadn't mentioned that before? Well, there you go.
I'm turning 32 years old this weekend. Noah has been kind enough to offer up his house to host a weekend long lan party. There will be much beer, many games, possibly some poker, and a couple cigars.

( 3 / 30 )If no news is good news then I've basically got good news. Alex turned 8 months old yesterday. Carrie and I have been married for four years (and here's to many more). My sister turns another marvelous year older this Friday. Work is going ok. Gas prices are better, but my 401k took a huge hit. That's about all there is to say.

( 2.7 / 27 )I finally did it. I updated Alex's 4 month pictures, and added two new galleries to cover his 5th and 6th months. Check it out for yourself if you don't believe me. The 6 month old pictures spilled over onto the second page of his gallery, so look for them there.

( 3 / 17 )We are all officially done with being sick, which is very nice. It was horrible for a day, then uncomfortable for several days after. I'm looking forward to a more normal weekend this weekend.
Carrie put in her two week notice at work yesterday, so we will be removing Alex from day care. I've got myself a stay-at-home mom! This will be great for my wife and child both, and we're all very excited about it.
Look at this outfit that Alex will be wearing some day soon.
Lastly, here's some good advice for dealing with your company IT guy:

( 2.8 / 19 )Alex was really sick for only a day. He's been much better since then, but still is not eating very well. On top of that I got sick enough that I came home from work yesterday. Fortunately Carrie was a great help, because I didn't feel like moving much. But I'm much better today... just in time for Carrie to get sick. I guess if we all had to get sick the weekend was a good time for it to happen.
