Alex spent most of last night throwing up. Three times in three hours. When he was finally finished he was so tired that he just sat in my arms and barely moved. Clearly we were concerned but fortunately it has turned out to be ok. We paged our doctor's office and the doc suggested that this was normal, and that it should clear up on its own. Alex slept through the night (although were up frantically checking to make sure he was breathing and not laying in a puddle). I just fed him some formula an hour ago and it seems to be staying in.I just feel bad for the little guy. It's always something. Being a kid is rough, and I don't think being in daycare is helping. They never put him down for naps when he's tired, and three times now he's gotten sick (most likely from daycare). We're considering making Carrie a stay-at-home mom, so stay tuned for details.
For now, Alex seems ok. Grandpa Jebe is coming to watch him this morning, and I suspect that they will have a very subdued but illness free time.

( 3.2 / 18 )Alex has been nothing but awesome since my last post. It makes everything so much easier when he's not sick or popping out teeth. He smiles all the time and he's a ton of fun to play with. We're loving it while we can.
I know I'v been a bit behind on posting new pictures of Alex, so I'm making it my goal for this weekend. We've got a ton of news stuff to share. Heck, he's going to be 7 months old late next week, so we've got three months of pictures to post!
His crawling hasn't gotten him into trouble yet, but he's more mobile every day. We're beginning to child proof. Good bye, sharp corners!
The Brewers have been doing awesome lately. My only fear is that they blow their shot at the wild card. I'd be pretty mad if that happened. Fortunately, the cubbies have been stinking lately. Keep it up, Chicago!

Last night was one of the worst nights we've had with Alex in months. He came home from daycare, and hadn't slept since 2:15pm. Normally he takes a nap every 1.5 - 2 hours, so he was pretty tired at 5:30. We got him to go to sleep, but he woek up a half hour later, and cried until 9:00pm. The weird thing was, he was exhausted. If you picked him up his eyes would close and he'd instantly pass out. But if you laid him down he'd cry.Carrie and I both lost our minds during this process. It was very frustrating, to say the least. On top of all the other stress we've had lately (work, illness, Alex teething, etc.) his three hour battle to sleep put us both over the edge. Fortunately, once he went to sleep he slept until 6:30am. It was nice to rest through the night. I woke up and felt much better, but this event may be what finally forces us to deal with our concerns about having Alex at daycare. Stay tuned for updates I guess.

( 3 / 21 )I started my new job this week (Wednesday), and so far so good. It's a real change for me. I've spent the last 5 years of my life consulting, and now I'm back behind a desk. But I really like it, and there are a ton of projects coming up that I'm looking forward to. Lots of new stuff to learn.
But enough about me. Allyou care about is Alex, and there is plenty of news about him. First of all, he was running a fever earlier this week (almost 102 degrees) so I had to get him from day care. That was not fun. He had his 6 month doctor's appointment last week Friday, and means he got some shots. maybe that made him a little sick. Not sure. It could also have been his two new teeth that caused the fever. Yes, that's right, two teeth. And lastly, he's crawling now. He's slow, but he gets where he wants to go. Amazing. So three major Alex events in one week. It's been tiring, but joyful.

Today is Alex's offical six month birthday. It's been an amazing journey so far. I can't imagine going a day without seeing him at this point. All of the lost sleep seems worth it. If you read this and you have interest in attending a one year birthday party for Alex six months from now let me know. It will be a bash.Oh yeah, and on a side note I'll be starting my new job at Kinex Medical next week. Sounds like I'll love it. I'll let you know.
Also, my friend from high school (Kelly, who is awesome) talked me into joining facebook this week. Despite my concerns, it's been great. I've had conversations with a lot of great people that I haven't spoken to in years. It's been a real treat.
Lastly, congratz to my buddy Nate who announced he will be getting married soon. I've had the pleasure of knowing a lot of great people in my life, but Nate tops the list. I'd like to wish him and his a wonderful and happy marriage. I'm sure it will be magic, just like everything else he does.

( 3 / 19 )Another quick update on my work situation for you. The other good employee from my office resigned yesterday, leaving me all alone with a guy I like, and bunch that I don't. But essentially at this point that one other guy and I are responsible for all the work that my company does. It's a joy. We'll see how long it lasts.
Also of note, today is a woot off day at woot.com . Go buy things!
