We also watched the movie 7 Pounds , and we really enjoyed it. This was on the heels of Punisher : War Zone, which was easliy the worst movie I've seen all year. We also bought two DVDs of trucks (monster or otherwise) that are so campy that even Alex barely enjoyed them.
Most exciting though was our trip to the Ren Faire . I hoped Alex would have a good time and he did. We ate many fantastic things including a beef, pork, cheese and portabella mushroom sausage with onions and mustard, and some fried mac'n'cheese. The weather was great and there were several kids areas which Alex loved running around in. We'll post pictures of that soon.
We were unable to attend the Jebe annual swim meet at Fred's house this weekend. We were sorry to miss everyone but I just don't think Alex is quite ready for a 5.5 hour car trip two days in a row yet. Maybe once we get a car DVD player.

( 3 / 10 )It's a great week to be standing where I'm standing. Wisconsin is taking top honors all over the place, proving to the world that we are in fact better than anyone else. Here is the evidence:
1. A Milwaukee Brewer won the home run derby at the MLB All Star games
2. New Berlin was rated one of the top places in the nation to live
3. Today is my Dad's birthday
What more proof could you need? Are you thinking of moving into my neighborhood now?

( 3.2 / 13 )My friend from Michigan was in town this past weekend. I spent the whole weekend at Noah's so that we could all party, and party we did. We ate a lot of pulled pork did four brewey tours , and had a ton of fun. It's always good to see him.
However, me being away means Carrie spent the entire weekend alone with Alex. It wasn't that bad but she needs a break now. Seems like she'll get a break or maybe two this weekend.
I found out that we'll all (Alex included) be going to spend a week at the Lighthouse Resort this summer. It's going to be great. We'll all stay in a cabin for a week using the rented boats and such to fish, swim, and relax. I love spending time with my parents and sister, and this is the best way to do it.
If you know any one who wants to buy a wieght bench or some turn tables let me know.

Things have been good. We had two birthday parties last weekend, and both were a lot of fun. The first was a Yo Gabba Gabba themed party for my friend Nate’s 2 year old son. There were a lot of kids and plenty of things to keep children happy. Alex had a great time. The second party was for Carrie’s dad. We got to see Alex’s cousin and eat some delicious food . Summer is officially great.This weekend we’ll get to take Alex to Carrie’s mother’s boyfriend’s farm for 4th of July festivities. Also, my cousin Allison is moving into the state and I’m hoping we get to see her. My sister and Aunt are both moving into new homes and I haven’t been able to help. I’m eager to see both places and maybe that can happen too. We’ll see.
I added a link to the menu over to the right that allows you to play the classic Nintendo game Base Wars right on my blog. It’s great and I’m great at playing it. Be glad you can’t play against me online because you would lose .
Carrie has been on a painting frenzy lately. She painted the foyer / hallway and just finished the kitchen. It looks fantastic. Kudos to Carrie! I’d say she deserves chicken and Chi-Chis .
Also of note, my friend Noah lost of pitching wedge somewhere between his house and mine. I somehow lost my favorite hat which pronounced me an official member of the United States Beer Drinking Team . If you see either please report their location to me as soon as possible.

( 3.2 / 12 )Alex has really been enjoying the outdoors on the nice days we've had. He enjoys playing in his pool, pushing his toy lawnmower around the drive way (which is grass free), and picking up every pinecone he can find. It's very different from last summer, and a welcome change for Carrie.
I got to play my first round of golf yesterday. I need more practice, but it was a great time. I went with two people from work who did about the same as me, so there was no pressure. I even got some much needed sun. IT guys are naturally very white.

( 3 / 10 )Things are going well at the Jebe house as we start to roll into the warmer months. Alex really enjoys playing outside, and he even got to go swimming (wading) in his new pool a few weeks ago. He’s starting to talk and has developed opinions about almost everything. We have learned that he hates bees, likes lady bugs and giraffes, and would like to learn to stand on his head .
Our close friend Jim turned 40 over the weekend and we had a party in his honor that was a lot of fun. The weather wasn’t the greatest, so we didn’t get to play the outdoor games we’d hoped to play (like cornhole and bocce ball). However, the indoor options all proved to be enough fun.
We have some busy days ahead of us. My sister and my Aunt are both moving soon. My friend Kelly will be in town tomorrow with both her kids (one of whom I’ve yet to meet). We have an upcoming birthday for Carrie’s dad, Father’s day, and a Yo Gabba-Gabba themed party for my friend Nate’s son. I’m sure our schedule will free up some time around September.
Carrie’s Mom agreed to baby sit Wednesday night so that we could go see a movie together. I’m looking forward to that. I think we’ll go see Star Trek if I get my way.
This week is the last week for my beginners golf class. It’s been great. I really feel that I’ve learned a lot. I’ve been getting to spend time on the range and chipping in my back yard. Both have helped my swing a lot. Someday I’ll even be good enough to try playing a real game of golf.

I don't really update this all that often, do I? Sorry about that. I guess right now there just isn't that much to report. We're all doing fine.Alex is bigger and more articulate every day. He's not talking yet, but he clearly understands what we say, and he points at things. It's fun to see that, and I look forward to him talking some day.
The warmer weather has meant that Carrie and Alex can get outside more. They've been to the zoo 4-5 times already this year, and the park is a regular stop too. We found out that Alex loves tuna burgers, and I'm willing to bet he'll like fish sticks too. I had a small lan party this last weekend at which I served my home made chili. Alex ate some and loved it. Carrie complained that it was too spicy, but Alex is a real man and just wanted more.
I start my golf lessons tonight at the New Berlin Hills golf course . Hopefully this leads to some golf games later this summer. It should be fun even if I suck. Noah is taking the class with me. He doesn't really need to, but we get to spend some time together this way.
I got to see the Wolverine movie last week. I was not excited to see and, and the horrible reviews helped keep my expectations low. I was shocked when it was a really enjoyable. I'd recommend it to any one... expect maybe Grandma.
And lastly I found out that my sister bought a condo. Congratz to Julie. I'm looking forward to seeing the place.
