Work update
Another quick update on my work situation for you. The other good employee from my office resigned yesterday, leaving me all alone with a guy I like, and bunch that I don't. But essentially at this point that one other guy and I are responsible for all the work that my company does. It's a joy. We'll see how long it lasts.

Also of note, today is a woot off day at woot.com . Go buy things!

What up?!
A couple interesting things I wanted to mention. First, the cousin of mine that I mentioned a while back is graduating from college. I just wanted to quickly say congratz to Ben Prather. He's seriously one of the coolest people you are ever likely to meet.

Also, if you haven't watched Doogie Howser in his latest web movie you are missing out. You should go watch it here .

Lastly, work got more stressful for me this week when one of the only competent people that I work with quit to pursue a better work environment. We'll miss him around the office. In fact we already do. Not sure what this means for the company. Maybe some fresh blood finally?

Solid!
My trip out of town went well. Carrie was tired when I got home, but she handled being a single parent exceptionally well. It was very nice for me to get in some extended time with the boys, since this hasn't happened at all in the last 5 months.

Alex has started eating solid food! That sounds really exciting but what it means for now is that he has part of a teaspoon of rice cereal each day. Baby steps. He will soon be moving up to carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. I fear that the result of this will be that he enjoys the food, and his growth rate will sky rocket . Although, solid food is much less expensive than the stupid formula we have to give him, so that'd be ok with me.

New pictures
A ton of new pictures of Alex are up. These pictures cover a week before and all the weeks since Alex turned four months old. He'll be five months old soon so look at these pictures now! They are going fast ... or something.

He's doing better with his cold. The last two nights we haven't gotten much sleep, but that doesn't slow Alex down. He sleeps all day while we suffer through work. You aren't allowed to bring your (possibly) sick child to day care. Fortunately for us my Dad has been available. Grandpa Jebe baby sat the last two days for free. I think he enjoys it, and Alex likes being around him so it's a win win.

I'm off to Detroit this weekend with my friend Noah to see our friend Pooty (Sean "Puffy" Claffin). Carrie will be all alone with Alex, so if you're bored or have a raging desire to baby sit give her a call.

Sick again
Over our long four day weekend, we had Alex spending a lot of time outside. We took him to the Zoo one day, and to the neighbor's 4th of July grill out the next day (which was a lot of fun). Unfortunately, Alex got sick shortly after all this. I think that it's an allergy, because he has a very runny nose. However, the runny nose causes difficulty breathing, sore throat, and coughing so allergy or not he's in rough shape. In fact he's staying home from day care today (with Carrie). The last time he got sick (you might recall ) was days after his first visit to the Zoo. Coincidence? I'm beginning to think not.

It's been a while
I'm sure you've noticed that it's been a long time since I posted. Perhaps you put "two and two" together and surmised that things have gotten much more stable around the house and that as such I didn't need the blog as an outlet for my emotions any longer. I guess you'd be half right with this conclusion.

Things have been good. Alex is 4.25 months old, 18lbs large, and smiles a lot. He's been rolling over (so much that we had to put foam cushions around him at night to keep him on his back), and almost crawling to get toys that are out of reach. He still gets fussy from time to time, but so do I so I can't fault him. He's been sleeping through the night. I don't mean in the technical baby sense (6 hours straight), I mean all the way through. Like he goes to sleep at 8pm and wakes up at 6:30 am. It's great!

I had an amazing father's day. Carrie got a book of pictures of Alex from the time he was born until now. The card I got had his hand prints on it, so that's not proudly displayed in my office. She also took me to my first Brewers game of the year, and the crew won! They are doing great right now, but the darn Cubs are just unstoppable. Props to my Chitown sister.

Yesterday Alex was given the OK by his (nearly worthless) GI doctor to start working towards solid foods. Rice cereal shall be had by all! If that goes well we'll start working in fruits and veggies (slowly) and then pizza and beer .

New pictures of Alex will be posted soon. We haven't had any new pics on the site in a while for the same reason that my blogging has slowed down. Work has been VERY busy for me lately, and my home life has almost no room for breaks. So as much as I'd like to have this blog resume a daily schedule, I don't think it can happen. All the same, I'll post as often as time allows.

Oh Noes!
I guess the good old Wisconsin Dells took a hit this weekend. All of the extra rain water some how caused Lake Delton to disappear ! It's a local horror story of epic proportions.
