So far she's eating really well and seems to enjoy sleeping a lot. I feel like I won the lottery. We'll be heading home some time today. We're both realy looking forward to seeing Alex. Thanks a million to those who dropped by to wish us well ad to meet Sona. Thanks even more to the Grandparents who stayed at our house with Alex to help make this experience easier for us.
A photo gallery is already up. It doesn't contain much right now, but it'll grow.

( 2.7 / 6 )We've been at the hospital for more than 24 hours now, and we've still got no baby. Carrie isn't in any pain, but she's still uncomfortable and tired. Even though she's tired, she can't sleep because the nurses have to come in every 30 mins to check on her and to read just the monitoring equipment. Also, she can't eat solid food, which sucks.
We both wish this process would really get under way soon. I took an entire day off work. I'm glad I could be here to help Carrie, but that's a day off that I could have used to help her recover and to adjust to my new life with an infant. Will May 21st actually be the birthday? We'll see...

( 3 / 15 )The final days of a three person Jebe family are upon us. If she complies, our daughter will enter this world some time Friday morning. Thus begins my two week hiatus from my professional work, and begins my life time of increased parental duties. I can't wait to meet her!

( 3 / 15 )Mother's day was fun for us this year. I went Saturday night to see my mother, Grandmother, Aunt, cousins, sister and father. It was a nice night and I was glad to get to see everyone.
Sunday I woke up with Alex to let Carrie sleep in. When she got up we went to George Webb's to get a pan cake breakfast. I've honestly never seen Alex eat so much. He ate a ton of pancakes, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, and eggs. It was fun.
Then, after Alex's nap, he and I went to see a movie. He loved it. I wondered if he'd sit through an entire film or not, but he had no problems. We left a little before the end because he was getting a little too excited. I wasn't sure it was a good thing, but in retrospect we probably could have stayed. At any rate, Carrie got some time to herself, Alex and I saw movie and played in the yard, and everyone was happy.

( 3.1 / 7 )The family room is completely painted. The baby's room is filled with furniture. The tiny clothes are cleaned. Carrie made ~40 meals and put them in the freezer. Everything has been cleaned. I think we're ready to weather the oncoming storm... by which I mean the impending arrival of our daughter. Now if I could only find a way to stockpile sleep.
My work recently laid off 57 people. My department remained untouched, but it's still fairly eye opening. On an unrelated topic, I can think of a few people I'd like to see laid off from the Brewers. Sure they manged to win their last two games, but that hardly erases the season of suck they've managed so far.
Fondue tonight! Woot!

( 2.8 / 28 )James Brown's body has gone missing. I guess we'll find out on Easter if he's the second coming of Christ. Wouldn't that be awesome?
