Carrie's awesome mother is coming to babysit tonight so that Carrie and I can go out to eat together. This is going to be our Valentine's Day. I'm really looking forward to it.We don't often get a chance to do something as simple as leave the house together where the destination doesn't involve buying groceries or diapers.
This Saturday I'll be gaming at Noah's with a couple friends. Zombies and convicts beware. It promises to be a great time and a much needed break from life. The following day I'll be working 8+ hours. Joy.
Oh, and also, FTP is back online. Not sure for how long. I need to buy a new server, hence the new "donate" button over on the side there.

( 3.1 / 48 )Alex's Birthday weekend was awesome. Friday we went to a Chuck-E-Cheese-esque facilty for dinner. Alex ate a ton, while watching Pixar films, and then ran around like crazy playing with everything. Saturday we had the party and all his favorite family (and a couple friends) came and witnessed Alex in a very over excited frenzey of fun. The cake probably helped fuel him. All in all, he had a great couple of days. It was fun to be a part of it.
I got to see Alex's two cousins too! I wish we lived closer. I'd like to see them more often.
One of my servers is currently dead in the water, and I've not no time to address the issue. If you have an FTP account on my system please know that that server is offline. Maybe I'll fix it by the weekend.
Work has been very busy lately. We have a lot of big changes going on, and that means lots of after hours stuff needs to get done. Last night I worked from 10:30pm - 4:00am. This Sunday I get to be in the office all day again. I'm looking forward to a return to normality that is hopefully only two weeks away. That will give me more free time (and energy) to get things done around the house. Yahoo.

( 3.1 / 48 )Some how two years have gone by since my little guy, Alex, was born. He already got his own pickup truck today, and I'm sure there are other great new toys to follow.
Happy Birthday Alex!

( 3 / 38 )We had my mother & father over for the Super Bowl along with our friends Jackie & Noah. It was a good time, and great game. We ate plenty of amazing food, and even watched a bunch of funny youtube videos after the game. All i n all I think it was a success.
I recently started playing L4D2 (a zombie killin video game) with my friend Noah. It's fun shooting the undead. We started this game the same day Netflix delivered the movie Zombieland to my doorstep. That was good timing, and let me tell you, I highly recommend the movie.

A while back I made a post about how I played a game called Call of Juarez . For Christmas, Carrie got me the sequel (which was a prequel) called Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood . The game mechanics were nothing special. If you only played it for 15 minutes you'd think the game was C+ at best. I just completed it, and I wanted to mention that I found it almost impossible to put down. It was a very well done game, and I'm glad I played it.Thanks Carrie!
I played this right after Batman: Arkham Asylum (Thanks Mark!), and I'll now be starting Dragon Age: Origins . Man, what a helluva year to be a gamer. I also just recently completed Bionic Commando: Rearmed which was a remake of one of my top 5 NES games of all time. It was not long, but it was sweet to revisit.

( 3 / 32 )Lots going on at home these days. We're painting the family room, We replaced a horrible kitchen faucet. I'm installing shelves in my office. All of this is being done in preparation for the new Jebe girl who will be a part of our family on or around June 1st.
Carrie has to move out of her office and in to mine to make room for a new crib and all the other things that go along with it. Things are coming along. At this point I think we're on track to having it all done befroe the deadline. Woot!
This Sunday is Super Sunday (Super Bowl that is). We're having our friends Jackie & Noah and my Mom and Dad over for chili and beer. Alex is going to love all the attention.

( 3 / 22 )PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Teddy Pendergrass, the seductive American rhythm-and-blues singer who continued his recording career after he was paralyzed in a 1982 car accident, has died at the age of 59, media reports said on Thursday.
Pendergrass's son, Teddy Pendergrass II, told the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper that his father died on Wednesday at a Philadelphia-area hospital. He had undergone colon cancer surgery eight months ago and his son said he had a difficult recovery.
Pendergrass began his career as a drummer but first rose to fame in the 1970s when he became lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, which had hits such as " If You Don't Know Me by Now" and " I Miss You."
After leaving the Blue Notes for a solo career, he had a string of hit love ballads that were considered musical aphrodisiacs by his fans. His solo hits, notable for his smooth baritone and sensual delivery, included " I Don't Love You Anymore," " Close the Door," " Turn off the Lights" and " Love TKO" (my personal favorite).
Pendergrass crashed his Rolls-Royce in Philadelphia in 1982 and was left paralyzed from the waist down. He resumed his recording career the next year with the album "Love Language" and returned to the stage by performing from his wheelchair at the Live Aid concert in 1985.
He started the Teddy Pendergrass Alliance in 1998 to benefit victims of spinal cord injuries.
