Work has been very busy, and not much fun of late. The being busy is not the reason for the lack of fun. Enough said for now.
Alex just had his first birthday party, even though his birthday isn't until Thursday. He had a good time once the shock of waking up from a nap to a full house of people wearing weird hats was over. He got some amazing gifts and we all got some great food. He is truly loved, there is no doubt. Pictures will be forthcoming.
If you did not get an invite to the party, it's because we like you. A one year old is not very exciting at a birthday party. Rather than bore you for a few hours and guilt you into buying things for our child, we decided to make the party immediate family only. We'll get you involved later when the real fun is happening.
So for now it's back to the grind. Work, eat, sleep, repeat. Things could be a lot worse , and at least the weather is nice! Speaking of which I've got a real hankerin' to learn how to golf. I'm trying to save some money to get clubs , but if you know of any one selling some please let me know.

( 3.1 / 17 )Alex got pretty sick for a about a week, but is doing much better now. He had a very runny nose, sore throat, and a bad attitude . It made his life miserable for a few days. The doctor let us give him benadryl , and he's on an antibiotic. Both of these were firsts for him and have been very successful. He's feeling like a million bucks these days though, so all rejoice.
I mmigrated the web page about the computer that Noah, my father and myself built from a case of beer to this blog. Go check it out if you have not seen it before.
Superbowl weekend is going to start off with a bang! Carrie's mother is kind enough to babysit for us while we go to my works Casino Night. Should be a good time and a rare chance for Carrie and I to spend some time together.

Oh yes, the day has finally come. Alex is walking without support. Mind you he's not walking very far, but he is walking often and I'm sure he'll be running soon. He even got his first big ouchy trying out his new ability. The banged up left eye didn't stop him for long though, and now doesn't seem to bother him at all. He's a super baby!It's almost time for his first birthday celebration as well. Most of you will miss out on the grand party because it will be a family only event. You're probably relieved to hear that. Maybe I'll get him the Obama / Spider-man comic as a gift? Naw.

( 2.5 / 17 )We had a great Christmas, and were fortunate to see almost everyone we wanted to. We missed out on the Jebe extended family gathering, but hopefully we'll see all those folks soon.
One thing I got for Christmas was a desk calendar that gives a wacky site of the day. Here is my entry from today . It's worth the visit.

Alex is a real trooper. Right now he's got four teeth trying to invade his mouth. He finally gets over the pain from one of them, and the next one starts. But overall his mood has been great ! He's walking all over the place as long as there is furniture to grab onto. He gets faster every day. What are we in for?He also celebrated his frist St. Nick's day . His mother who thinks he will grow up to be a first class chef got him the kitchen fun time set. He does seem to like it a lot.
Carrie has been sick, which has not made her days easy. It's nothing major, but she operates now with no time for rest and that's not helping.
Our friends Jackie and Noah had their annual Holiday party last night. I just woke up from that. Wow! It was a fantastic time. Highlights include Jim beating down all opponents at Wii boxing , two rousing flip cup tournies, multiple games of Drinko , me winning the annual Street Fighter 2 tournament of champions (to maintain my undefeated streak), amazing snacks, a fine cigar , and the opportunity to stay up to 3am in the morning with my closest friends. Even our buddy Bill was there. It was a great time as always. Thanks to our gracious hosts.
